Meet our people
Darryn Crawford
Darryn has worked in the construction sector since 2002. He holds a Diploma in Quantity Surveying and is a Member of the Institute of Quantity Surveyors.
Darryn cut his teeth commercially in Christchurch and has since been applying his Quantity Surveying expertise on a vast range of projects including retail, office blocks, retirement villages, aquatic centres, schools and high end architectural developments.
“I really love forming good long term relationships with clients and working with them to ensure everyone is happy with the end result” Darryn explains.
Work life balance is a key priority for Darryn; when he’s not spending time with his family you’ll find him training for multi-sport events such as the Wanaka Challenge.
Nathan Lang
Nathan gained a Bachelor of Engineering degree in 1997, and has been working in Project Management in the construction industry ever since.
His work has taken him across the world and to the UK, where he ventured into high-end commercial interior fitouts. Highlights included working on the £5 billion St Pancras/Kings Cross Eurostar Terminal project, as a Senior Construction Manager, and the complete refit of Shell International’s Head Office.
Rob Hubbard
Rob started his career in construction, working for a multinational company in the UK.
Rob moved to New Zealand in 2014, with a degree in Quantity Surveying, and as a Chartered Quantity Surveyor. His key area of expertise is Contract Administration.
“Working at Focus feels more like you’re working with friends, rather than a big, faceless company, and the work is a lot more diverse.”
Andrew Tippet
Andrew started his working life as a carpenter and joiner, gaining his City & Guilds qualifications in his native UK.
He moved to New Zealand in the early 2000s and after some time working as a carpenter he decided to study for his National Diploma in Quantity Surveying.
“Having experience in carpentry and joinery has been a huge help in my Quantity Surveying profession, as I have a real in-depth knowledge of building from the ground up,” he explains.
