Focus worked closely with the architect and client to finalise the design of this extensive renovation, which completely transformed this three-level holiday home into a chalet-like haven. Focus managed the tender process and worked alongside the client to appoint Dan Anderson Building to the contract. The project was undertaken on a steep site and included extensive excavations to incorporate a self-contained two-bedroom apartment and new double garaging. The upper level was generously extended to accommodate the master suite and two private deck areas. While existing flooring and exterior framing were retained to preserve the home’s original character, structural steel beams and posts were installed to support cantilevered decking. 

The project won the Regional Supreme Award (Registered Master Builders House of the Year) Renovation of the Year, Marlborough / Nelson / West Coast 2018.
